Troops neutralise Boko Haram commanders, 7 others in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by the Air Component, have eliminated nine Boko Haram terrorists, including two top commanders, in Borno State.

Military sources revealed that the operations, conducted between August 21 and 22, foiled planned terrorist attacks on Bita and Wulgo.

Those killed include commanders Abu Nazir, the Munzir of Juye, and Abu Fatima, the Munzir of Koloram, who were neutralised during a fierce gun battle in the Wulgo axis.

Recovered items include AK-47 rifles, a cache of ammunition, and six motorcycles used by the insurgents.

The military high command commended the troops for the success and urged them to maintain the tempo in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations despite prevailing challenges.
