Uba Sani flags off reconstruction of Jaba–Kwoi road

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Thursday flagged off the reconstruction of the Jaba–Kwoi Road, describing it as a “lifeline” for the people of Southern Kaduna.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony in Jaba, the governor said the project was not just a routine exercise but a personal commitment to the people who had endured years of hardship due to the road’s deplorable condition.

“I know the pain you have carried for many years because of this road. I have felt it myself.

“Each time I travel this route, I see your frustration, I understand your hardship, and I share your burden.

“That is why today’s groundbreaking is not merely ceremonial—it is a duty of conscience and the fulfilment of a solemn promise,” Sani said.

Earlier in the day, the governor also inaugurated the construction of an access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, underscoring what he called his administration’s resolve to place Southern Kaduna at the heart of its development agenda.

“Two projects in one day, both in Southern Kaduna, sends a clear message: this region is central to our development agenda, and your progress is Kaduna’s progress,” he declared.

Sani highlighted the economic importance of the Jaba–Kwoi Road, which links several Southern Kaduna communities to the Abuja highway and beyond.

“This road is not just asphalt and gravel. It is a highway of hope—a bridge between the sweat of our farmers and the markets of our nation,” he said.

The governor explained that the reconstruction falls under the second phase of the state’s road programme, which covers 550 kilometers across more than 50 roads and bridges.

This follows the first phase, which spanned 785 kilometers of roads, out of which 44 have already been completed.

“With today’s groundbreaking, we are deepening our investment in rural transformation, linking communities, opening economic corridors, creating jobs, and securing prosperity for our people,” Sani noted.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity, the governor said no part of Kaduna State would be left behind.

“No community will be forgotten.

“No citizen will be neglected.

“Every voice will be heard.

“We are building a new Kaduna—one of unity, progress, and fairness,” he assured.

He urged residents of Jaba and the wider Zone 3 region to see the project as a collective journey of unity and shared prosperity.

“This groundbreaking is more than a construction project. It is a statement of faith—faith in our people, faith in our future, and faith in the promise of Kaduna State,” he concluded.
