It was gathered that the student committed suicide at his private residence located at Oke-Odo axis of Tanke in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Sources in the university community disclosed that the deceased committed suicide due to financial challenges.

It was also learnt that the deceased lost his father a few years ago, while his mother, a retired school teacher, had since taken over financial responsibility for his academics.

The deceased’s financial crisis reportedly started when he resumed school last year.

The development was said to have made his colleagues to raise some funds to pay his tuition fees and buy food items for him.
