The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has alleged that former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi used his wife, Judith, to receive a monthly payment of N4 billion from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) during ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Wike said this in an interview with Channels Television on Friday, July 4, 2025.
The minister, who called for the probe of the NDDC by President Bola Tinubu, said the funds earmarked for training women in the Niger Delta were directed to Amaechi’s wife during Buhari’s administration.
Wike said: “I am saying authoritatively that every month, N4 billion was going to Amaechi’s wife in the name of training Niger Delta women.
Wike slams ADC’s Abdullahi: You’re a political liability
“President Tinubu should please help Nigerians to release the forensic audit report on NDDC, which the Buhari administration stepped down to cover up those who were indicted.
“If the report doesn’t show that Amaechi used his wife to collect N4 billion every month from the NDDC, in the name of feeding Niger Delta Women, I will resign as minister of FCT.”
Amaechi has yet to speak on the allegation as of the time of filing this report.
