A woman identified as Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue has sparked widespread reactions on social media after publicly celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, while making a series of controversial allegations against the deceased.
In a Facebook post shared after the older woman’s death, Ezinne described her late mother-in-law as a “witch” and claimed she had played a role in frustrating her life and marriage.
She further alleged that her mother-in-law and others had discovered her “destiny” and made efforts to bring her down, adding that she was now in her “season of manifestation.”
The post, which accompanied the deceased’s burial announcement, also contained religious references and remarks suggesting that those she described as witches would face divine judgment.
Social media users have linked the dispute to claims that the deceased had allegedly required her son to swear an oath that he would die if he was unfaithful to his wife after relocating to Canada. However, this claim has not been independently verified.
The post has generated mixed reactions online, with many users condemning the public celebration of the woman’s death, while others debated the family dispute and the allegations made in the viral post.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no public response from the Nwanorue family regarding Ezinne’s claims.
