Gunmen have reportedly killed two people during an attack on the Abdulsalam Abubakar General Hospital, Gulu in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.
The gunmen, it was gathered, also kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of persons in the attack which occurred at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday.
Among those abducted were a doctor and pharmacist, among others.
The gunmen were said to have invaded the government medical facility in their large number and conducted their operation without resistance from security operatives and local vigilantes in the area.

An eyewitness disclosed that two people lost their lives during the attack among which include a retired medical personnel, simply known as Ya- Tachi, who lived opposite the hospital.
The source added that the gunman stormed the area and started shooting sporadically, causing panic in the area.
The latest attack was the fourth on communities in the Gulu area of Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State in recent times.
Meanwhile, the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for comment on the attack as of the time of filing this report.
