Festus Agas, the Chief of Staff to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has resigned from office.
Others, who resigned from the Delta State Executive Council, were seven commissioners earlier appointed by the governor.
The seven commissioners include Basil Ganagana, Evelyn Oboro, Julius Egbedi, Jonathan Ukodhiko, Christian Onogba, Ovie Oghoore, and Chika Ossai.

It was, however, gathered that Agas and the commissioners’ resignation from office may not be unconnected to the requirement of Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022 which stipulates that political appointees must resign their appointments before participating in any election.
Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022 read: “No political appointee at any level shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of candidates for any election.”
