The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released popular nightclub celebrity, Pascal Okechukwu, well known as Cubana Chief Priest, who was earlier arrested on charges bordering on money laundering and tax fraud.

The Star had reported that Cubana Chief Priest was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed airport in Lagos last Thursday.

The officials of the EFCC, however, hushed the arrest amidst pressure from the socialite’s associates and family, who said the matter could complicate conditions for others likely connected to the alleged offence.

It was learned that Cubana Chief Priest’s arrest made it impossible for him to return birthday greetings from his nearly four million Instagram followers, with only his wife being permitted to see him in custody.

However, the popular nightclub celebrity, who took to his Instagram page on Monday night, announced he has regained freedom from the EFCC custody.

Posting his appointment letter on Instagram, the socialite stated that he has an instruction from Governor Uzodinma to make over 1,000 Imo youths successful through the social media.

A letter signed by the Secretary to the Imo State Government (SSG), Chief Cosmas Iwu, stated that the appointment of nightclub celebrity took effect from January 10, 2022.
