Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi
Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has lost his 24-year-old son, Abdulwahab.
Abdulwahab’s demise was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Hamisu Gumel, on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Gumel disclosed that the governor’s 24-year-old son died in a road accident on Thursday.
This comes 24 hours after the governor lost his mother, Maryam Namadi.
Gumel stated: “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family, his dear son Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
“He departed this world this afternoon (Thursday, December 26th, 2024) as a result of a ghastly motor accident along Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road.

“The burial rite is taking place at this moment in Kafin Hausa town, in accordance with Islamic traditions.
“A 24-year-old, late Abdulwahab is survived by his parents and many siblings.”
The governor’s mother, Maryam, died on Wednesday, December 25.
Maryam died in the early hours of Wednesday and was buried according to the Islamic rites in Kafinhausa town at about 4:00 p.m.
The funeral prayer was attended by many residents of the state, who condoled with the governor over the death.
Namadi was on a working visit in China at the time of his mother’s death.
