Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has presented to the Federal Government a Certificate of Occupancy of about 170 hectares of land for the takeoff of the new Federal University of Applied Sciences in the Kachia area of the state.

Sani presented the Certificate of Occupancy to the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Alausa, in Kaduna on Friday, March 7, 2025.

The governor thanked the minister for his commitment towards improving the quality of education in Nigeria and the takeoff of the university in Kaduna State.

He also highlighted some of his administration’s achievements in the educational sector, especially in the area of reducing the number of out-of-school children in the state while ensuring increased enrollment in schools.

Sani assured Alausa that the Kaduna State Government will continue to partner with the Federal Ministry of Education to enhance the state’s educational system.

Sani added: “We are deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support to the government and people of Kaduna State.

“I also thanked Vice President Kashim Shettima for his support in the realisation of the institution. The Federal University of Applied Sciences will commence full academic activities in September 2025.”

In his remarks, Alausa expressed his gratitude for the prompt approval and certification of the lands.

He also commended Sani’s administration for its inclusive and people-centered approach to governance.

The minister pledged to attract TETFUND intervention for the takeoff of the Federal University of Applied Sciences as well as interventions for the Kaduna State University and the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya.

The Minister of State for Education, Dr Suwaiba Ahmad, was also in attendance at the event.
