Security operatives have arrested some legislative aides and National Assembly workers for carting away some valuables from the National Assembly Complex.
It was gathered that the aides and workers were arrested while attempting to move out the valuables without necessary permits.
It was learned that outgoing and re-elected members of the Senate and House of Representatives were also engaged in moving those items out of their respective offices and residences.
Some of the items include television sets, cabinet shelves, electronics, computers, furniture, rugs and carpets, solar power systems, printers, and air conditioners.

The incident was confirmed by the Sergeant-at-Arms at the National Assembly, Chuks Obaloje.
“Yes, some people were arrested while trying to go out with some items from the National Assembly. But I wasn’t on duty on the day it happened, so I can’t provide you with details. Please contact the Crime Division of the National Assembly,” Obaloje told Punch.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the National Assembly Complex, Alex Annagu, declined to comment on the incident.
However, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said she could not give details as she had been unable to reach the DPO.
