Uba Sani makes new appointments, tasks appointees on diligence, fairness

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved a new round of appointments into key government boards, agencies and advisory positions, as part of his administration’s efforts to deepen inclusive governance and strengthen institutional capacity across sectors.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, on Sunday, Governor Sani said the appointments were aimed at giving opportunities to innovative and resourceful professionals to contribute to the socio-economic and political re-engineering of Kaduna State.

Among the key appointments is Dr. Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim, Mni, who will now serve as the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board. She will be joined on the board by Hon. Nita Byack George, Hon. Monday Tela Bako, Hon. Aliyu Haruna Ahmed, Hon. Aliyu Ibrahim as Permanent Members, and Barr. Muhammad Kabir Uthman as Secretary.

Governor Sani also approved appointments into the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, with Hon. Phoebe Sukai Yayi and Engr. Muhammad Sulaiman named as Deputy Provosts for Samarun Kataf and Soba Campuses respectively, while Barr. Abdullahi Kabir will serve as the Registrar.

In the media sector, Mallam El-Said Yakubu Lere was named Chairman of the Board of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), and Zakari Aliyu was appointed Executive Director of the agency.

Other major appointments include Hon. Gambo Mathew Bulus as Chairman of the Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA), Mal. Lawal Usman as Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KSSLB), and Hon. Suleiman Ibrahim as General Manager of the Kaduna State Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA).

The Governor also named Usman Umar as Executive Director (Corporate Services) of the Kaduna Mining Development Company Ltd, Barr. Abdulrauf Atiku as Special Adviser on Legal Matters, and Murjanatu Sulaiman Shika as Special Adviser on Vocational Training and Skills Development.

In addition, several Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants were appointed across various portfolios including Citizenship and Leadership, Job Creation, Humanitarian Affairs, Stakeholder Relations, Industrial Training, Public Relations, and Research.

Governor Sani congratulated all the appointees, describing their selection as a “call to service.”

He urged them to approach their new responsibilities with total commitment, fairness, and humility in line with the administration’s principles of inclusivity, justice, and development-driven governance.

He also prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the new appointees as they contribute to the collective effort of transforming Kaduna State.
