Uba Sani restores peace, unity in Kaduna – Ex-envoy

As Governor Uba Sani marks two years in office, his most significant achievement has been restoring peace and unity across Kaduna State, according to Ambassador Yusuf Mamman, a former Nigerian envoy to Spain and veteran journalist.

In a press statement released on Monday, Ambassador Mamman praised Governor Sani for transforming a deeply divided state into a more cohesive and peaceful society.

He noted that beyond addressing infrastructure and human capital challenges, the Governor has successfully bridged long-standing ethno-religious divides through inclusive governance and equitable development.

“Governor Uba Sani inherited a state torn along ethno-religious lines, where consensus on governance was rare,” Ambassador Mamman stated.

“But through deliberate policies of inclusion, he has made the recurring ethno-religious crises of the past a thing of history.”

Drawing a parallel with the ideologically driven administration of the Second Republic under Alhaji Balarabe Musa, the former diplomat described the current atmosphere in Kaduna as reminiscent of that era of purposeful leadership.

Referring to the Governor as a “Man of Peace,” Mamman said his leadership style should serve as a blueprint for other governors overseeing diverse and multi-ethnic states.

He emphasized that peace has been the foundation upon which other developmental strides have been built.

“In just two years, and without borrowing a single kobo, Governor Sani has significantly improved the state’s healthcare sector by upgrading Primary Healthcare Centres to Level 2 status,” he said.

“He has also expanded access to education by constructing 62 new schools and commissioned 25 roads across Kaduna’s three senatorial zones.”

Ambassador Mamman also highlighted how the Governor’s prudent management of public funds has led to substantial progress in infrastructure, job creation, and economic development despite a challenging fiscal environment.

“Governor Sani’s efficient and transparent handling of public resources has boosted human capital and improved living standards,” Mamman added, urging citizens to rally behind what he described as a people-oriented administration.

With peace and inclusive development as key pillars of Governor Sani’s governance, the former envoy believes Kaduna State is on a firm path to sustained growth and stability.
