Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has directed political appointees and other public servants in the state aspiring for political offices in 2023 to tender their resignation before March 31, 2022.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, made this known in a statement on Monday.

The SSG explained that the Electoral Act 2022 signed by President Muhammadu Buhari provides that the political appointees and public servants aspiring to contest for any political office must resign from their positions before the conduct of political party primaries.
