Activist and convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has bagged a first class degree from Baze University, Abuja.

Adeyanju, who announced the feat via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Law with First Class Honours.

He wrote: “To God alone be the glory. I suffered so much to get here.

“I have always known the law as someone who went through several criminal and civil trials but I had to unlearn to learn many things.

“Thank you Lord for this. I’m truly grateful.”

The activist also shared the statement of result awarded to him by the private university.

“This is to certify that Charles Deji Adeyanju having completed an approved course of study, and passed the prescribed examination, under the authority of the Senate, been awarded the degree of Bachelor of Law with First Class Honours on 24th February, 2022,” the certificate read.

Adeyanju holds a degree in English Language from Bayero University Kano (BUK).

Adeyanju has featured prominently in the civil society circles since 2015 when Muhammadu Buhari became the President of Nigeria.

The former opposition PDP strategist warned Nigerians that Buhari was a corrupt dictator with no hope of rehabilitation.

He has since remained amongst top Nigerian voices taking on the regime over corruption and human rights abuses.

For his activism, which has received recognition amongst rights defenders across Africa, Deji Adeyanju has been arrested on at least 15 occasions since Buhari assumed office in May 2015.

Between December 2018 to March 2019, he was locked up in a Kano prison on trumped-up charges because of his fierce opposition to the regime.
