DSS arrests suspected Boko Haram leader in Ogun

The residents of Abeokuta, Ogun State, were thrown into panic on Sunday following report of arrest of a suspected Boko Haram leader in the state capital.

The suspect was reportedly arrested on Saturday night by the operatives of the Department of State Security Service (DSS), the state command.

According to Daily Trust, a source disclosed that the suspected Boko Haram leader was arrested, few days ago, in gestapo style at Ijaye area of Abeokuta.

The source said the suspect initially put up a resistance before bowing to the superior power of the DSS operatives.

An Abeokuta based Rock City FM had reported the story in its news bulletin, throwing residents into panic before the audio of the news cast went viral across social media platforms in the state on Sunday.

The development was being fueled by the alleged plans to attack some states in South-West by suspected terrorists.

It was gathered that the suspected terrorist arrived in Abeokuta from Katsina, took up security job at Ijaye, while gathering intelligence for terrorist attacks.
